Exeter’s Long adds UConn offer

The University of Connecticut extended a scholarship offer to Exeter High School tight end Hunter Long after Long attended UConn’s camp on Tuesday.  Long, who has gained 30 pounds since the end of his senior season (he’s now 6-foot-5 and 235 pounds), also has offers from Fordham, UNH, Boston College, UMass and Holy Cross.

Long will play for Deerfield Academy next season. Former Exeter and UNH offensive lineman Brian Barbato is Deerfield’s head coach.

Long will represent the East in Saturday’s CHaD New Hampshire East-West All-Star Game, which will be played at Saint Anselm College (5:30 p.m.)
