The top 10 high school football teams in New Hampshire, voted by the staffs of the New Hampshire Union Leader and ESPN New Hampshire, with record, first-place votes/points in parentheses, plus last week’s ranking:

1. Bedford, 9-0 (6/69), 1st

The Bulldogs enter the postseason as the only unbeaten team in Division I.

2. Merrimack, 8-1 (1/63), 2nd

Merrimack QB Justin Grassini can set state’s single-season record for touchdown passes Saturday against Goffstown. Next TD pass will give him the record.

3-T. Exeter, 8-1 (50), 4th

Exeter will have to beat two Nashua teams to reach the Division I championship game.

3-T. Windham, 9-0 (49), 5th

Windham and Bedford share the state’s longest winning streak. Jaguars are the only unbeaten team in Division II.

5. Goffstown, 7-2 (46), 3rd

Grizzlies must avoid back-to-back losses against Merrimack to extend their season.

6. Nashua North, 7-2 (32), 9th

North scored in its final 10 possessions against BG on Friday night.

7. Salem, 6-3 (30), 6th

Salem’s three losses came against the three other playoff teams in Division I North/South.

8. John Stark, 8-1 (17), NR

The Generals are back in the top 10 after knocking off previously unbeaten Hanover.

9. Nashua South, 6-3 (10), NR

South had to overcome a 12-point deficit in the final quarter to beat Dover and earn a playoff spot.

10. Bishop Guertin, 6-3 (8), 7th

The Cardinals enter the postseason with back-to-back losses.

 

Also receiving votes: Monadnock, 8-0 (6), NR; St. Thomas, 7-2 (3), NR; Dover, 6-3 (1), 8th.
