Locals sign with NFL teams

University of New Hampshire running back Dalton Crossan was one of three local players who who undrafted but signed with an NFL team as a free agent Saturday after the third round of this year’s NFL Draft.

Crossan agreed to terms with the Indianapolis Colts, UNH offensive tackle Andrew Lauderdale signed with the New Orleans Saints and Dartmouth linebacker Folarin Orimolade agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Rams.

Crossan had 5,189 all-purpose yards — 2,167 rushing yards, 779 receiving yards and 1,793 return yards — in four seasons at UNH, and ranked 12th in the FCS last season with 1,977 all-purpose yards.

The Colts currently have running backs Frank Gore, Robert Turbin and Josh Ferguson on their depth chart. They also drafted USF running back Marlon Mack in the fourth round. Gore will turn 34 in May.
