2017 TEAM PREVIEWS
NEWPORT

Coach: Rich Boone (second season).
Division/Conference: Division III North.
2016 Record: 5-4 (lost in Division III quarterfinals).
Returning Starters on Defense: (4).
Returning Starters on Offense: (3).
Key Returnees: Kyle Rossiter QB/S; John Thibault RB/LB; Peter Thibault OL/DL; Gavin Lovely OL/DE; Ethan Houde RB/DB; Aiden Almstrom OL/DL; Cole McNamara RB/LB; Matt Hennig TE/DE.
Season Opener: Sept. 1 at Kearsarge.
Coach’s Comment: “Each year you graduate seniors you wonder how you will ever replace, but you always do — sometimes with more talent or less, but either way with kids looking for their chance to step into the spotlight and shine. This year is no different. After graduating 10 seniors we have 11 coming into this season. All of our coaching staff is back and looking forward to this season. Our goal like all other teams is to get into the playoffs and see what happens from there.”
