NJ team seeks NH opponent

Timber Creek High School in Erial, N.J. is seeking an out-of-state opponent to play during either of the first two weeks in September.

Timber Creek is a strong program that finished 10-1 last season, but graduated 24 seniors. The Chargers will have to replace their starting quarterback, their top two wide receivers, top two running backs and three offensive linemen.  Six starters on defense and four on offense are eligible to return.

“We’ll look a little different than we have the past few years, but we’ll be solid,” Timber Creek coach Rob Hinson said. “We’re a public school of around 1,150 students total and would be very interested in coming to New Hampshire.”

Hinson said if NHIAA schedules do not leave room for a game against an out-of-state opponent, he would be willing to play a team from another state in northern New England (Maine, Massachusetts or Vermont).

Anyone interested can contact Hinson at rhinson@bhprsd.org or at (856) 313-9709.
