CHaD Practice: Day 3

Notes from the third day of practice for this year’s CHaD New Hampshire East/West All-Star Game, which will be played Saturday (1 p.m. kickoff) at Wildcat Stadium on the University of New Hampshire campus:

CHaD NOTES

East head coach Craig Kozens said his team’s base offense and base defense has been installed, and now it’s just a matter of getting players repetitions in practice. The East is scheduled to have a full-contact scrimmage Monday. “Every kid will get 10 live plays on O and 10 live plays on D,” he said. “We’re getting a pretty good feel for who’s going to be on each side of the ball.” … Merrimack’s Joe Eichman, a slot receiver/defensive back for the West, suffered a shoulder injury in practice Saturday and was held out of practice Sunday. … West coach Eric Brown elected to select a kicker — Hanover’s Moises Celaya — when he picked his team. Celaya will kick for Division III Colby College next season. “He’s putting them in the end zone,” Brown said. “Not always, but pretty consistently. He’s very good. Londonderry’s Pat Zepf will handle the place-kicking for the East, and Dover’s Johnny Cantwell will punt. … Trinity High School graduate Andrew Lauderdale is scheduled to speak to each team today. Lauderdale, who played in the 2012 CHaD game, played at UNH and is now on the San Francisco 49ers roster. … There are three Division III players participating in this year’s game: Somersoworth’s Zach Andrews (East), Somersworth’s Ray Mills (East) and Newport’s Peter Thibeault (West). … Anyone who eats at a New Hampshire Buffalo Wild Wings this month can have 15 percent of their bill donated to CHaD. The East will eat at the Manchester Buffalo Wild Wings on Tuesday (8) and the West will eat there on Wednesday.
