McGregor claims MASCAC honor

PLYMOUTH Plymouth State defensive back Grant McGregor was named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Honor Roll on Monday for his performance in Saturday’s 21-10 loss to Husson University

McGregor finished with a team-high 11 tackles (one solo) while helping anchor a defense that limited one of the region’s top offenses to three touchdowns and seven points in the first half. Entering the game the Eagles, ranked ninth in New England, were averaging more than 28 first-half points and nearly 43 points per game.

McGregor’s play helped PSU build a 10-7 lead entering the half, before Husson took the lead for good with a pair of third-quarter TDs. It was his first weekly honor.

Plymouth State wrapped up its season with a 6-4 overall mark and a 5-3 record in MASCAC play. All three of the team’s league losses were by less than a touchdown.
