TOP 10 GAMES FROM 2018
No. 6: St. Thomas 41, Milford 40

In a back-and-forth offensive onslaught, St. Thomas quarterback Shawn DeKorne handed the Saints a one-point victory when he capped the scoring on a 1-yard run with 53 seconds to play during this Week 4 matchup that kept St. Thomas unbeaten (4-0).

Nick Tosatti’s interception near midfield ended Milford’s final possession and sealed the 41-40 win.

After Milford took a 40-35 lead when quarterback Gavin Urda connected with Tristyn Shattuck for a 23-yard touchdown pass, St. Thomas took over on its own 35-yard line with 3:13 to play

The key play on what turned out to be the game-winning drive was a pass to Will MacLean (five receptions for 81 yards) on a third-and-10 play that moved the ball to the 5-yard line. DeKorne carried the ball on the next three plays and found the end zone on the third try.

DeKorne completed 15 of 30 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. He was intercepted once, but also ran for two scores.

Milford lost despite rushing for 387 yards. The team’s leading ground-gainers were Urda (15 for 171), Junior Ughu (23 for 113) and Owen Zalenski (13 for 76).

St. Thomas also got a big game from Edwin Estevez, who caught seven passes for 128 yards.

The game featured 35 points in the first quarter. The Saints led 27-21 at halftime and 34-28 entering the third.
