TOP 10 GAMES FROM 2018
No. 7: Merrimack 6, Nashua North 0

The elements dominated this Division I quarterfinal between the Tomahawks and Titans, but Merrimack’s Ben Eichman played a huge role in the outcome as well.

Eichman scored the game’s only points when he splashed his way to a 4-yard touchdown run in overtime that extended Merrimack’s season. Eichman, who finished the game with 123 yards on 19 carries, also blocked a field goal attempt on North only overtime possession.

As the final score indicates, the muddy and windy conditions in Merrimack made it tough on both offenses. North quarterback Curtis Harris, one of the most dangerous runners in the state, was limited to 68 yards on 30 rushing attempts.

North failed to score on three trips inside the red zone, intercepted four passes and limited Merrimack to 59 yards of offense in the final two quarters. The Titans turned the ball over on downs at the Merrimack 15-yard line with 3:50 remaining in regulation.

Harris gained 5 yards on three rushing attempts before North attempted a field goal in overtime. Eichman gained 6 yards on Merrimack’s first play in overtime. After Merrimack quarterback James Dowling failed to gain any ground on second down, Eichman ended the game on a third-down play.
