TOP 10 GAMES FROM 2018
No. 8: Somersworth 28, Kearsarge 27

Somersworth’s Christian Abkarian ran for 163 yards and a touchdown in this contest, but that doesn’t include what may have been his most important carry of the game.

Abkarian found the end zone on a two-point-conversion attempt that capped the scoring with 5:15 to play and handed Somersworth a 28-27 come-from-behind victory.

Abkarian’s conversion followed a 2-yard sneak by Somersworth quarterback Brogan Bonsaint, who came up with an interception on Kearsarge’s ensuing possession.

The victory secured a playoff berth for the Toppers, who stretched their winning streak to four games after an 0-4 start. Kearsarge led 14-12 at halftime, and held leads of 21-12 and 27-20 in the second half.

Kearsarge quarterback Jak Jallah tossed three touchdown passes in the loss, but was sacked five times. Gavyn Magistro ran for 170 yards and a TD on 22 attempts, and Andrew Normandin had touchdown receptions that covered 30 and 4 yards.

Somersworth fullback Anthony McHugh had two rushing touchdowns, and also scored a two-point conversion that trimmed Kearsarge’s lead to 21-20 with 2:01 left in the third.
