CHaD Practice: Day 7

Notes from the sixth day of practice for this year’s CHaD New Hampshire East/West All-Star Game, which will be played Saturday (6 p.m. kickoff) at Wildcat Stadium on the University of New Hampshire campus:

CHaD GAME
PRACTICE REPORT

Both teams worked out at UNH’s Wildcat Stadium on Friday before the CHaD banquet, which featured a video from Ohio State coach Ryan Day. Day played quarterback at Manchester Central and at UNH. … West quarterback Thomas Morgan (Bedford) led all players in fundraising ($10,073). It’s the most money raised by a player in the event’s history. As of Friday’s banquet the players had raised $76,000. … Nashua South’s J.J Arnesen was given the Dan Duval Community Service Award. … The West’s Jacob Collins (Bedford) and Cooper Varano (Central), and the East’s Dan Hayes (Timberlane) were recognized for their effort and attitude during the week of practice. …”The play sheet I have this year is almost identical to the one I had last year,” West coach Eric Brown said. “I pretty much based my decisions this year on what was successful and what we were able to install and handle last year. It’ll come down to turnovers. Big plays.” …  The East will wear blue shirts and white pants during Saturday’s game. The West will wear red pants and white shirts. … The West has a 5-2-0 edge in the series.  … “I think (the East players) have been laid back all week, which I’m not used to,” East coach Jimmy Lauzon said. “I think that they’re gamers, based on what I’ve seen on film. I guess the biggest thing I’m worried about is if they’re going to come excited, ready to go and get after it (Saturday). They practiced hard. They’re just not a hootin’ and hollerin’ type of group — but that’s fine. They could be all business. (Saturday) we find out for sure.” … PREDICTION: East 24, West 17.
