For the second consecutive season, the Hawks will play 11 games, taking on three non-league opponents for the first time. Saint Anselm will also battle the remaining eight teams in the Northeast-10 Conference, rounding out a full slate of action for the Hawks.

“We are excited to be able to arrange a full schedule this year,” said Saint Anselm coach Joe Adam. “With 75 percent of our team returning, we are looking forward to building upon our growth that we showed at the end of the 2019 season. Our program eagerly awaits the return of football to the Hilltop this fall.”

Saint Anselm finished the 2019 season with four wins, the most in a season since 2014. Defeating three of the top five teams in the 2019 NE10 Preseason Coaches’ Poll, the squad fell just one victory shy of matching a program record for conference wins.

In non-league competition, the Hawks head to California (Pa.) on Sept. 5 before hosting Tiffin on Sept. 12 in the Grappone Stadium opener. Saint Anselm concludes its 2020 season with a tilt against non-league Walsh (Ohio) on Nov. 14 on the Hilltop.

Saint Anselm heads to Southern Connecticut State on Sept. 19, opening NE10 play, before welcoming in-state rival Franklin Pierce to Grappone Stadium on Homecoming (Saturday, Sept. 26). The Hawks toppled the Owls by a 25-24 margin and dealt the Ravens a 50-10 blow in the first meeting between both programs.

Bentley battles the Hawks in Manchester on Oct. 23 before Saint Anselm hits the road for games against New Haven (Oct. 10) and Stonehill (Oct. 17). The Hawks posted a narrow six-point loss to Bentley on the road last season and fell to the Skyhawks on Homecoming, 38-14.

Three of the final four games will be played at Saint Anselm. Pace (Oct. 24) and American International (Oct. 31) at home will conclude the month of October and the Hawks will end their NE10 calendar at Assumption on Nov. 7. Saint Anselm shattered numerous records in the 2019 season finale, downing the Greyhounds by a 61-23 margin.

Last season, the Hawks had a single-season record 12 student-athletes earn Northeast-10 All-Conference honors. The offense threw for over 3,200 yards in 2019, averaging just shy of 300 passing yards per game. Saint Anselm scored over 300 points for just the third time in team history.
