Bishop Brady coach steps down

Add Bishop Brady to the list of high schools that will have a new varsity football coach next season.

Jermaine McKenzie, who served as Bishop Brady’s head coach for the last two years, announced his resignation Saturday.

“This was a very difficult decision to make, but I believe the time as come for me to move on,” McKenzie wrote in his resignation letter. “Not being able to say good-bye in person to all of my players is the hardest part of all of this. I know the players will move on and be fine without me, but I will miss the day-to-day contact in the season with some of the best student-athletes not only at Bishop Brady, but in the entire state of New Hampshire.”

After a 1-6 season in 2018, the Green Giants qualified for the Division IV playoffs last year as the No. 4 seed. Bishop Brady finished with a 4-4 record following a loss in the semifinals.

Goffstown’s Justin Hufft and Salem’s Rob Pike resigned earlier this year. Official replacements have not been announced at either school
