UNH’s Horn changes direction

Abut It appears safety Evan Horn will finish his football career at the University of New Hampshire after all. Horn entered the NCAA transfer portal, but announced Friday via his Twitter account that he planned to return to the UNH program.

In addition to being a standout with the UNH football program, Horn also played in 14 games with the UNH men’s basketball team during the 2017-18 season. His football accomplishments by year:

2020: STATS FCS Preseason All-American Third Team. Phil Steele Preseason All-CAA First Team Member

2019: Started all 11 games. … led UNH in both solo tackles (51) and total tackles (70), as well as interceptions (four). … third in pass breakups (five)… tied for second in sacks (four). … tied for fourth in tackles for loss (seven). … forced two fumbles and recovered two fumbles. … recorded 7-plus tackles in 6 of 11 games. … six punt returns for 55 yards (9.2 per return) with a long of 27. … Member of the CAA Football Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll for the spring semester. National and Conference Defensive Player of the Week (11/23). Phil Steel CAA All-Conference Third Team

2018: HERO Sports FCS Sophomore All-America Team. … Started all 11 games. … recorded 28 solo tackles and 19 assisted tackles for a total of 57.

2017: Played all 14 games with seven starts, all at safety in consecutive games spanning Oct. 21-Dec. 2. … recorded 23 solo tackles and 20 assisted for a total of 43. … three tackles for loss, including one sack. … three interceptions with 70 return yards. … also credited with six pass breakups. … on special teams, returned 21 punts for 76 yards (3.6 yards/returns).

2016: CAA Academic All-Conference Team. … redshirt season.
