St. Anselm announces recruiting class

MANCHESTER – Saint Anselm head coach Joe Adam revealed a portion of his incoming class of student-athletes on Wednesday as part of National Signing Day.

The incoming class currently includes three New Hampshire residents: defensive lineman David Araujo (Winnacunnet), offensive lineman Nathan Belanger (Goffstown) and linebacker Jake Brady (Salem).

“Today is a great day for our program,” Adam said. “Our assistant coaches did an outstanding job of reaching out to recruits early on in the process and developed strong relationships with prospects and parents. As soon as the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we went to work on building this class, which is comprised of 12 different states.

“Replacing our senior class, a group filled with unselfish blue-collar men, was the challenge in this recruiting cycle,” Adam continued. “We were able to identify some premier talent here in New England while continuing to branch out to places where ‘Saint Anselm Football’ is now a household name.”

In 2019, the Hawks football program had a single-season record 12 student-athletes earn Northeast-10 All-Conference honors. The offense threw for more than 3,200 yards in 2019, averaging just shy of 300 passing yards per game. Saint Anselm scored over 300 points for the third time in team history.
