Shrine Camp: Day 2

68th Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl

New Hampshire held two practices after arriving at Castleton University on Sunday. The team had three practices Monday: an offensive session and a defensive session during the day, and a special teams session at night. New Hampshire coach Paul Landry said the team’s base offense and base defense has been installed. “We’ll be running what you see at Exeter — what I know, which is Straight-T and Wing-T,” Landry said. “On defense we’ll be an odd front with defensive ends that can also drop and become outside linebackers. We’re off to a great start. I’m real happy with where we’re at, but we’re still trying to figure out where to play some of these kids.” … Nashua South quarterback Chris Keefe will play running back in Saturday’s game, which will be played at Castleton University’s David Wolk Stadium (12:30 p.m.). … New Hampshire leads the series 48-17-2. … Cody Bannon (Plymouth) and Cody Clements (Salem) will be New Hampshire’s quarterbacks Saturday. … Landry said he expects at least five players will be used on both sides of the ball Saturday. “We wish we had a few more linemen and tight ends than we do,” he said. “Everybody’s learning an offensive and a defensive position just in case.” … Today will be media day at Castleton. New Hampshire is scheduled to practice at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
