Plymouth State extends winning streak

Plymouth State 17, Westfield State 7

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Senior Manny Sanchez (Hartford, Conn.) rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown and Plymouth State University won its fourth straight game, topping Westfield State University, 17-7, in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) game at Alumni Field on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Evan Wilson (Derry, N.H.) had a pair of sacks and sophomore Emmanuel Ughu (Milford, N.H.) had a fumble recovery as the Panthers fought back to an even .500. PSU churned out 202 yards on the ground in the win.

PSU’s four-game winning streak runs the Panthers’ record to 4-4 (4-2 MASCAC), while Westfield State remains winless on the season at 0-8 (0-6 MASCAC).

Dartmouth 20, Harvard 17

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Senior Connor Davis converted a 25-yard field goal with 49 seconds remaining and Harvard could not find the range from 53 yards on the game’s final play as Dartmouth (6-1, 3-1 Ivy) knocked off the No. 21 Crimson (5-2, 2-2 Ivy) on wet and windy Saturday afternoon at Harvard Stadium, 20-17.

Saint Anselm 21, AIC 16

MANCHESTER – The Saint Anselm College football team won its second consecutive game on Saturday, taking down visiting American International College by a 21-16 score at Grappone Stadium on Senior Day.

Bentley 24, Franklin Pierce 14

WALTHAM, Mass. (October 30, 2021) — Against a team which had been held under 30 points just twice in seven games, the Franklin Pierce University football team did some damage on the ground, shortened the game, and hung right with No. 11 nationally ranked Bentley on the road on Saturday afternoon, before ultimately dropping a 24-14 decision. Junior EJ Burgess (Pearland, Texas) ran for 186 yards and a score to lead the way for the Ravens. Graduate student Andrew Brazicki answered with 108 yards and two touchdowns for Bentley, while senior Stephen Sturm threw for 150 yards and another TD.
