TOP 10 NHIAA GAMES FROM 2021
No. 4: Nashua South 43, Nashua North 42

There are last-second victories, and then there’s what happended at the end of this game at Stellos Stadium.

South tailback Josh Compoh scored his fourth touchdown on an untimed down with no time remaining in regulation to pull the Purple Panthers within a point, and after South fumbled the ball on the two-point-conversion attempt Connor Roswell recovered the ball in the end zone to give South a thrilling 43-42 victory.

Compoh finished the contest with 215 yards rushing on 35 attempts.

North took a 42-35 lead when quarterback Derek Finlay scored on a 20-yard run with 3:40 left in the fourth quarter. Finlay completed each of his six pass attempts for 247 yards and three TDs in the loss.

South began its game-winning drive on its own 20-yard line needed 12 plays to reach the North 2. That’s when Compoh appeared to score a TD, but the Panthers were penalized for an illegal formation that moved the ball back to the 7-yard line. Compoh scored on the next play, and then Roswell recovered his own fumble to give South the win.

North assumed a 14-7 lead midway through the second quarter after Finlay found Jack Peters (three receptions, 129 yards) for a 41-yard touchdown pass, and then Jordyn Raisanen-Andino added a pair of touchdown runs to give the Titans a 27-14 halftime lead.

After Compoh scored his second touchdown on the first drive of the third quarter, Finlay connected with Peters for a 29-yard touchdown pass. South evened the score at 35-35 following quarterback Michael Rustein’s 1-yard keeper on fourth down to end the third, and Compoh’s 11-yard scoring run in the fourth. Rutstein carried the ball 18 times for 107 yards and two TDs.

Then came the most chaotic ending the in 17 years the rivals have played one another.
