TOP 10 NHIAA GAMES FROM 2021
No. 2: Hanover 21, Bow 20

These teams set the bar high in their Division II opener.

The situation: Bow had just put together a 97-yard scoring drive in under a minute to take a 20-13 lead with 1:12 to play. The Falcons didn’t hold that lead for long, however.

Hanover quarterback Colin Pierce connected with junior Brendan Logan for a 65-yard touchdown pass on a third-and-1o play with 49.5 second remaining. After a penalty on Bow, Hanover decided to go for the lead with a two-point conersion and when Pierce found the end zone the Marauders were up 21-20.

Hanover scored on the game’s opening drive that ended with sophomore Jeffrey Vidou’s 4-yard touchdown run. Bow answered on its first offensive possession with a 2-yard run by senior Myles Rheinhardt. The Falcons then took a 12-7 lead in the second quarter on a 42-yard run by junior Ryan Lover, who finished the game with 125 yards rushing on 15 carries..

Hanover regained the lead in the third quarter on a 16-yard TD pass from Pierce to Logan.

Bow took a 20-13 lead when quarterback Alex Boisvert completed a 55-yard TD pass to Owen Guertin and then ran in the two-point conversion, but Hanover needed only 23 seconds to regain the lead.
