MASCAC: PSU players recognized

PLYMOUTH  – Senior Manny Sanchez (Hartford, Conn.) and sophomore Seth Disalvo (North Andover, Mass.) were both recognized by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) with inclusion on the Weekly Honor Roll for their performance in Saturday’s 17-0 victory over Husson.

Sanchez churned out 131 yards on the ground in the Panthers’ win, averaging better than 6 yards per carry while running the ball 21 times as PSU (2-0) controlled the clock to remain unbeaten. Sanchez totaled 40 yards on the ground to setup Plymouth State’s second quarter TD and added seven carries for 48 yards as the Panthers ran out the clock in the fourth quarter.

Disalvo earned his second weekly honor with another perfect showing on Saturday. He buried a season-high 35-yard field goal to help put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter, while nailing both of his extra point attempts. Disalvo also averaged nearly 60 yards on his four kickoffs, amassing 233 total kickoff yards.

Plymouth State opens up MASCAC play on Saturday when Bridgewater State comes to Panther Field for a noon kickoff.
