Exeter’s Long traded to Rams

The Miami Dolphins traded tight end Hunter Long, an Exeter High School graduate, to the Los Angeles Rams, along with a draft pick, in exchance for All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

Long, who attended Boston College, didn’t get much playing time in the two seasons he spent in Miami. He appeared in 16 games, was targeted three times and had one reception for 8 yards. Long was stuck behind Mike Gesicki  — one of the NFL’s better receiving tight ends — on Miami’s depth chart.

The Dolphins selected Long in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
