Saint Anselm upsets Assumption

WORCESTER, Mass. — Justin Villanueva (Lowell, Mass.) recovered a fumble for a touchdown and junior Rio Ferguson (Northborough, Mass.) rushed for a score as the Saint Anselm College football team picked up a 14-0 road win over nationally-ranked No. 21 Assumption University on Saturday. It is the first win for the Hawks against a nationally-ranked opponent in program history.

HANOVER — The Dartmouth football team made sure the spirits of the 4,188 brave souls to face a steady rain on a very wet homecoming did not go home disappointed, knocking off visiting Columbia at Memorial Field on Saturday afternoon by a final of 20-9. Cornerback Patrick Campbell played the hero for the Big Green (3-3, 2-1 Ivy) with several big plays that turned the tide after the Lions (2-4, 0-3 Ivy) jumped out to an early 9-0 lead.

PLYMOUTH STATE 35, WORCESTER STATE 0

PLYMOUTH – Junior Willie Lombard (Bridgewater, Mass.) rushed for a career-high 123 yards, including a 50-yard TD run, and the Plymouth State University defense came away with four turnovers as the Panthers blanked Worcester State University, 35-0, in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) football game on a rain-soaked Panther Field on Saturday.
