CAA honors UNH’s Brosmer

RICHMOND, Va. – University of New Hampshire junior quarterback Max Brosmer was named the Coastal Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Brosmer accounted for 356 yards of offense and five touchdowns in UNH’s 45-14 victory at Stony Brook University on Saturday. Brosmer was 28-of-39 passing for 335 yards and four TDs – to four receivers – with no interceptions to record his second-highest passer efficiency rating of the season (177.8). He also rushed for 21 yards, including a 9-yard TD run on a fake field goal.

UNH scored on each of its first four possessions of the game to build a 24-7 lead at 8:48 of the second quarter. To that point, Brosmer was 13 of 16 passing for 157 yards and three touchdowns.

Late in the second quarter UNH lined up to attempt a 26-yard field goal, but Brosmer took the snap and won the race to the left pylon for a 9-yard touchdown that gave the Wildcats a 31-14 lead with 24 seconds on the clock.

Brosmer’s fourth TD pass was a 57-yard play that extended the advantage to 38-14 at 2:09 of the third quarter. He exited the game following UNH’s second-to-last possession of the game, which ended with 9:27 remaining.

It was the fifth time in the last six games that Brosmer has passed for at least 300 yards. He leads FCS with 21 TD passes as well as both points responsible for (146) and points responsible for per game (20.9). He has thrown multiple touchdowns in 6 of 7 games with a career-high of five at Stonehill College and four twice.

On the national leaderboard, Brosmer is also No. 2 in passing yards per game (321.4), No. 3 in both passing yards (2,250) and total offense (335.1 per game), No. 5 in completions per game (25.86), and No. 14 in passing efficiency (151.1).
