UNH adds kickoff times

DURHAM – The University of New Hampshire football team has announced start times for its games during the 2024 season, as well as the dates for both Homecoming and Family Weekend. The announcement was made Friday in conjunction with the release of start times by CAA Football.

UNH’s Family Weekend will be the Sept. 21 game against Bryant University with a 3 p.m. kickoff time. Homecoming is Oct. 19 against the University of Rhode Island with opening kickoff at 1 p.m.

After traveling for the first meeting against the UCF Knights on Aug. 29 – start time is still TBA — the Wildcats return to the road for a Sept. 7 (2 p.m.) matchup at College of the Holy Cross.

New Hampshire plays its home opener at Wildcat Stadium on Sept. 14 (6 p.m.) against Stonehill. UNH opened the 2023 season with a 51-17 road win against the Skyhawks.

UNH begins conference play Sept. 21 (3 p.m.) against CAA Football newcomer Bryant University; it will be the Bulldogs’ first CAA conference game.

Following an open week, the Wildcats and Harvard University will tussle on the gridiron for the first time since 1939 under the lights on Friday, Oct. 4 (7 p.m.) at Harvard Stadium. Despite a distance of only 71 miles between campuses, this will be just the eighth meeting between UNH and Harvard.

The Wildcats take flight to North Carolina to battle Elon University on Oct. 12 (2 p.m.).

The UNH and University of Rhode Island football teams will collide for the 97th time Oct. 19 at Wildcat Stadium as part of Family Weekend. Start time is 1 p.m.

Then it’s a battle of the Wildcats on Oct. 26 (3:30 p.m.) when UNH travels to Philadelphia for a matchup against Villanova University.

The last four games of the regular season all have a 1 p.m. kickoff.

New Hampshire is back on the road Nov. 2 at UAlbany. The Wildcats were the only CAA team to defeat the Great Danes last season.

UNH and Monmouth University meet for the third time in as many years since the Hawks joined CAA Football when the teams meet Nov. 9 at Wildcat Stadium.

The Wildcats continue their Border Battle with the University of Maine in the Nov. 23 regular-season finale in Orono. UNH retained the Brice-Cowell Musket with a 44-25 win last season, which marked the 111th meeting between the programs.

CAA Football expands to 16 teams in 2024 with the addition of Bryant. The conference schedule includes four home games and four road contests for each team. Each team was paired with one preferred partner and regional proximity was an important factor in determining the remaining opponents. Limiting air travel to reduce costs was a priority with most teams not having more than one flight during conference play.
