UNH 17, Elon 10

ELON, N.C. – Wide receiver Logan Tomlinson scored two touchdowns and defensive end and Josiah Silver recorded 3.5 sacks to lead the University of New Hampshire to a 17-10 victory over Elon on Saturday at Rhodes Stadium.

Silver finished with 4.5 tackles for loss and seven total tackles. UNH’s defense recorded nine sacks, 11 tackles for loss and one interception.

Tomlinson caught five passes for 39 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown reception, and also had a 4-yard TD run to account for both of UNH’s touchdowns.

Duncan Moreland sealed the win when he intercepted a pass with 1:12 remaining.
The Wildcats improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the Coastal Athletic Association. It was the fourth straight loss for Elon (1-5, 0-2).

UNH quarterback Seth Morgan completed 16 of 29 passes for 119 yards and tone TD. Junior wide receiver Joey Corcoran was the top target with five catches for 62 yards.

Senior running back Isaac Seide was UNH’s leading rusher with 20 carries for 51 yards.

Elon QB Jack Salopek completed 17-of-29 passes for 185 yards and was intercepted once. TJ Thomas, Jr. had nine carries for 78 yards, including a 39-yard TD.

— UNH safety Wande Owens made a game-high 10 tackles, including one on the last play of the game.

— New Hampshire has a 7-2 advantage in a series that began with Elon’s first CAA football conference game in 2014.

— Tomlinson’s 4-yard touchown run was the first rushing TD of his career.

— Sean Lehane, who entered the game ranked No. 8 in the nation at 45.8 yards per punt, punted seven times with an average of 47.9 and long of 55.

— Linebacker Ryan Toscano recorded five tackles and is UNH’s career active leader with 249 tackles.
