CHaD GAME
WEST PRACTICE REPORT

West head coach Kip Jackson (Merrimack) said he feels comfortable with his team’s quarterback situation entering Friday night’s game. Jack Maye (Bedford) and Colby Nyhan will both be behind center. “I think both of our QBs are very solid,” he said. “They’re good players who make good decisions in both the run and pass game. What we’ve done in the past is alternated series and see who has a good feel for it, but they’ll both play probably close to an equal amount. Nyhan will also kick and play defense.” … Jackson said his coaching staff entered practice concerned about the running back position, but now feels better about that position group. “That was an area that because we had some kids who decided not to play, we were worried about the depth,” he said. “We’ve had some kids step up in that area — Reece Clermont from Merrimack Valley and  Trevor Wong from Central. I don’t know if it’s a strength, but we’re definitely solid there. The kids from Manchester have been really good.” … Jackson on the West defense: “It’s been a challenge in some ways just because some kids are learning new positions, but we’ve definitely gotten better over the course of our practices. Team East is loaded at the running back position. They have good quarterbacks and a big line, so they’re going to be a handful for us. I’m hoping that especially our defensive line plays well and a kid like Logan Paradis from (Manchester) West — he’s gonna have to play well on defense for us to have a chance because he’s gonna be one of the main perimeter defenders.” … According to Jackson, Brayden Hickman (Souhegan), Josh Ozog (Merrimack), Camden Pollari (Newport) and Sawyer Lepple (Keene) are injured and won’t play Friday night. “Sawyer and Camden have been at every pratice helping out,” Jackson said. “One is coming from Newport the other is coming from Keene. They’re awesome dudes and that says a lot about them.” … The West will practice Wedesday at Manchester West from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The team will hold a walk-through at Saint Anselm from 2:30-3:30 p.m.  … More information on this year’s game, including how to donate to the cause or purchase tickets, can be found on the CHaD East/West All-Stare Game web site.
