NHFR Team of the Week: Pelham

NHFR TEAM OF THE WEEK
Pelham Pythons

No team overcame more adversity in Week 1 than Pelham, which had to deal with a coaching change two days before its opener and still came away with a 34-13 triumph on the road against Bow.

Pelham athletic director Justin Hufft assumed head coaching duties when John Trisciani resigned Thursday night. The Pythons faced Bow without starting quarterback Nick Muise, who was injured in the Queen City Jamboree. In addition, Pelham got off to a rough start when it fumbled the ball away in its own territory on the game’s second play from scrimmage.

The victory stretched Pelham’s winning streak to 42 games, which is the fourth longest active winning streak in the country. That streak will be in jeopardy Friday when the Pythons play John Stark (1-0) in Pelham.
