UNH commit ties national mark

A University of New Hampshire recruit tied a national record earlier this month when he returned three kickoffs for touchdowns in one game.

Jahai Johnson, a senior at Piscataway (N.J.) High School, scored on kickoff returns of 80, 69 and 89 yards during a 52-48 loss to Bridgewater-Raritan on Sept. 6. Johnson has given a verbal commitment to play at UNH.

Johnson, who is listed as a defensive back/athlete, also returned a kickoff 93 yards for a TD against Hunterdon Central last season.

According to the National Federation of High Schools record book, Johnson became the seventh high school player (11-man football) to return three kickoffs for touchdowns in the same game.
