Hufft headed to Alvirne

Justin Hufft has been hired as Alvirne High School’s athletic director. He will begin his new job on July 1.

Hufft is currently the athletic director at Pelham High School, but that position was posted earlier this week. Hufft also served as Pelham’s varsity football coach last season and guided the Pythons to the Division III championship game. Souhegan beat Pelham to win the Division III title.

Alvirne is currently without a varsity football coach, but it is unclear if Hufft is interested in that position. Hufft served as Goffstown’s varsity football coach while he was also the school’s athletic director.

Hufft guided Goffstown to seven playoff appearances — two in Division III and five in Division I — during his nine seasons as the program’s head coach. The Grizzlies won the Division I title in 2015.

He spent 11 seasons as an assistant coach at Souhegan High School, his alma mater, and two years as an assistant at Saint Anselm College before he was hired as Goffstown’s head coach. He became the school’s athletic director in the summer of 2018.
