Bears sign former Dartmouth QB

The Chicago Bears made two moves Thursday, when they signed undrafted rookie quarterback Dalyn Williams and waived quarterback Matt Blanchard.

Williams, who played at Dartmouth, participated in the Bears’ rookie minicamp May 13-15 on a tryout basis. In 39 games over four seasons at Dartmouth, he completed 620 of 989 passes for 7,458 yards with 56 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. The Texas native also rushed for 1,494 yards and 19 TDs on 446 carries.

Williams finished his career as Dartmouth’s all-time leader in passing yards, attempts, completions, completion percentage, passing efficiency and total offense.

Blanchard rejoined the Bears in 2015 after stops in Indianapolis (2015), Cleveland (2015), Green Bay (2015) and Carolina (2014). He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Bears in 2012 and spent parts of 2012 and 2013 with the club. He has not appeared in any regular-season games.
