Coach’s Comment: “We had a strong offseason and have been able to see some great gains in the weight room along with an increase in player participation. Last year’s team graduated a large and talented senior class and we have been building on the 12 or so total players returning from last year’s team. We will have a full JV squad this year and will even attempt to pick up some Freshman Reserve games if possible. Roughly 80 percet of this year’s team didn’t play football last year or will be playing for the first time. We have one returning starter, but a handful of athletes who have played some varsity reps in the past. What we lack in experience we make up for in commitment and a willingness to build a new and stronger foundation. When you want to be the best, you have to beat the best and we are excited to host three very strong and well-coached teams to start the season. Pelham is coming off its third straight championship and has the fourth longest undefeated streak in the country, Watertown, Mass. was in the playoffs last year and Souhegan is looking to be one of the best teams in New Hampshire regardless of division. Division II West is very strong from top to bottom and we are looking forward to competing each week.”
