72nd Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl

NEW HAMPSHIRE FOOTBALL REPORT MEMBERSHIPS

The New Hampshire team held three practices Monday in preparation for Saturday’s Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl, which will be played at Vermont State University-Castleton (11:30 a.m.). New Hampshire coach Jim Corkum said the first practice was in full pads, the second practice was shortended because of the heat and Monday’s night workout was in helmets-only. Corkum said Plymouth offensive linemen Tyler Medeiros, Alvirne tackle/defensive end Andrew Deely, Exeter linebacker Jackson Greene, Kingswood running back/linebacker Tyrese Ryder and Exeter defensive lineman Kellen Bateman are among those who stood out at practice. “As a staff we wanted to develop a depth chart pretty quick,” Corkum said. “We figured we’d find out right away (by practicing in full pads) who wants to play. We’re doing the best we can to not have guys go both ways, but there may be some exceptions.” … Corkum’s assistant coaches are Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough head coach Guy Donnelly, Kingswood head coach Cory Woodsome, Mascoma head coach John Daley and three Concord High School assistants: Ryan Daniels, Dave Levesque and Mike Abiraad. “I know the Vermont coaching staff has done this game several times, so they know what to do and how things should flow during the week,” Corkum said. …  Laconia’s Caden Tucker will handle the place-kicking for New Hampshire. … New Hampshire is expected to elect captains by Wednesday. “That will be a coaching decision,” Corkum said. … Vermont prevailed in 2023 and 2024, but New Hampshire leads the series 50-18-2. … Tickets for Saturday’s game can be purchased here: Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl tickets.
