CHaD practice: Day 3

Notes from the third day of practice for this year’s CHaD New Hampshire East/West All-Star Game, which will be played Juune 25 (1 p.m. kickoff) at Saint Anselm College’s Grappone Stadium:

CHaD GAME
PRACTICE REPORT

Spaulding head coach Kevin Hebert is coaching Team East for the second consecutive year. Hebert on what he’s seen from his team through three practices: “I’d say overall, from a size, speed and the physicality side of things, we have really good talent. Really impressed that after three days we’ve ironed out some things that usually take us a little longer to get through on offense. Defensively it’s a little easier to coach as far as the scheme’s concerned. Overall, defensively it’s been a good first impression for sure.” … Hebert said the tight end group, which includes Londonderry’s Colby Ramshaw and Alvirne’s Brendan Graham, has stood out. Both Ramshaw and Graham will play at UNH. “Tommy Ahlers from Salem has been really impressive at running back,” Hebert said. … Neither Winnacunnet’s Tucker McCann (illness) nor high school teammate Zachary Fredericks (injury) will play in the game. … Pinkerton’s Nate Campos and Dover’s Darian Lopez-Sullivan are getting most of the reps at quarterback. Epping/Newmarket’s Colby Bost is the No. 3 QB, but is also playing some defensive back. “They all bring different strengths to the table,” Hebert said. “Bost may play some wide receiver as well.” …  “The secondary is the area that — not from the standpoint of athleticm — but that’s the one place we try to put enough in because we can’t blilz and we want to have enough wrinkles in there. They have two great quarterbacks who sling it (Bedford’s Joe Mikol and Merrimack’s Kyle Crampton). We just need to keep getting reps because in the spread set they can do a lot of things.” … Neither team will practice Sunday. The East, which is practicing at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Dover, will work out from 2-5 p.m. on Monday. … More information on this year’s game, including how to donate to the cause or purchase tickets, can be found on the CHaD East/West All-Star Game web site.
