Miami’s Long will attend CHaD game

LEBANON – Miami Dolphins tight end and CHaD Football Class of 2016 All-Star Hunter Long is coming back to New Hampshire for the 19th CHaD New Hampshire East-West High School All-Star Football Game.

Long will join the captains and participate in the pre-game ceremonies during the game, which will be played Saturday (1 p.m.) at Saint Anselm College. He will also join the teams for their week-ending celebratory barbecue Friday, also at Saint Anselm.

Long became the first CHaD alumni drafted into the National Football League when the Dolphins made him a third round pick (81st overall) out of Boston College in the 2021 NFL Draft. His selection followed a season when he was the nation’s top tight end, earning the John Mackey Award as the leader in receptions and receiving yards.

Long, an Exeter native who played at Exeter High School, suited up for Team East and caught a touchdown pass as part of East’s 28-14 victory over West, at the time East’s second victory in a row. After a year at Deerfield Academy, Long attended Boston College for four years before entering the NFL.

Long will participate in the pre-game coin toss with the captains of this year’s game and a child ambassador from Dartmouth Health Children’s.
